Medication Management

Medication management that takes the stress out of staying on track.

Managing five, ten, or fifteen prescriptions is exhausting — for the patient and the family member helping them. Okuley's medication management services exist to take that load off your plate: Dispill multi-dose packaging that sorts every pill by date and time, medication synchronization so all your refills come due the same day, and one-on-one pharmacist reviews to catch duplications, interactions, and opportunities to simplify your regimen.

Who This Helps

Built for patients who don't want medications to be their day's biggest task.

Whether you're managing your own medications, helping a parent, or running a senior care facility — we've built medication management around the people who actually need it.

Patients managing 5+ medications

When your daily regimen includes blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, diabetes meds, supplements, and a thyroid prescription, even staying organized is a job. Dispill packaging and medication synchronization remove the daily decision-making — what to take, when, in what order.

Adult children caring for aging parents

If you're managing a parent's prescriptions from across town or across state lines, you need a pharmacy that communicates clearly, packages medications safely, and notifies you of refill timing and changes. We work directly with family caregivers as much as patients themselves.

Nursing homes & assisted living

We've packaged unit-dose medications for regional nursing home and senior care facilities since 1995. Whether you're a facility looking for a new pharmacy partner or an administrator handling resident transitions, our team handles the volume, paperwork, and compliance.

Anyone wanting prescription organization

You don't need to be on a dozen medications to benefit from Dispill packaging or refill synchronization. Plenty of our patients use these services because they prefer organization — fewer prescription bottles, fewer phone calls, fewer trips to the pharmacy.

Box Medication Packaging

Your medications, packed by the dose.

Our box packaging is a multi-dose system that organizes all of your medications into individual, pre-sorted packets — one packet for every time you take a dose. Each packet is labeled with the date, the day of the week, and the exact time, then sealed and arranged in order inside a single dispensing box built for medication adherence and everyday ease of use.

Every packet holds exactly the pills you need to take at that moment. Tear off the next packet, take your dose, and move on with your day. No more counting pills from twelve different bottles, no more wondering if you took your blood pressure med this morning, no more pill organizers getting knocked over and mixed up.

Our pharmacy team prepares your packaging box every cycle — usually monthly — using an automated Parata system for speed and accuracy, and it arrives ready to use. When your prescriptions change, the next box reflects the change automatically. We coordinate with your provider on every update and verify the new packets match the new order before they reach you.

  • Individually sealed packets labeled by date, day, and time
  • Pre-sorted by our pharmacy team — no work for you
  • Picked up at any location or delivered to your home
  • Updates automatically when prescriptions change

How It Works

Getting started is simpler than you think.

For most patients, going from scattered prescription bottles to organized Dispill packaging takes about a week.

01

Bring your medications in

Bring all your medications — prescriptions, OTC products, vitamins, supplements — to any of our three locations. Or just bring a list. If you can't easily get to us, we can schedule the consultation by phone.

02

Sit with a pharmacist

A pharmacist reviews everything you're taking, asks about how you've been feeling and any side effects, and looks for interactions, duplications, or simplification opportunities. Typically 30–45 minutes.

03

Get a plan

We give you a clear plan — what stays, what we coordinate with your provider to potentially change, what we'll handle going forward. If you want Dispill packaging, we'll prepare your first month's cards.

04

Ongoing coordination

Once you're set up, prescriptions get filled together, packaged the way you want, and you'll have a single coordination point at our pharmacy. Changes get reflected automatically in the next cycle.

Why Families Choose Us

Medication management that respects your time.

Dispill packaging done in-house.

Our team prepares your Dispill cards on-site using an automated Parata system for speed and accuracy. When prescriptions change, the next card reflects the change automatically — we coordinate with your provider on every update so the new packets match the new order before they reach you.

Coordinated across all three locations.

Pick up at Defiance, Paulding, or Continental — whichever is closest. Your records, med history, and Dispill cycle work across all three. If you move or change which location is convenient, nothing about your medication management changes.

Family communication welcomed.

With your permission, we coordinate directly with family members who are helping manage your medications. We notify them of changes, refill timing, or anything needing attention. Being the communication hub between patient, family, and prescriber works better than making everyone navigate separately.

You know who's filling your medications.

When you pick up your medications, you're not handed a paper bag from a tech you've never seen before. You're talking to the same pharmacists who organized your regimen — who know what you take, why, and what to watch for.

Common Questions

Medication management questions, answered.

The questions we hear most often from patients and family caregivers.

How do I set up Dispill packaging?
Call any of our three locations and ask about Dispill packaging. We'll review your current medication list, sort which medications fit the blister cards, and prepare your first card — usually within one to two weeks of setup. If you're transferring from another pharmacy, we'll handle the prescription transfers as part of the same conversation.
How does medication synchronization actually work?
We coordinate all your prescriptions to refill on the same day each month — a day that works for your schedule. The first cycle involves some adjustment to align all your refills (you might get partial refills on a few medications to get them in sync), but after that, you have one consolidated pickup day each month. One trip, one pickup, one phone call if needed.
Do you take over coordination with my doctor, or do I still manage that?
You stay in control of your healthcare decisions. We act as a coordination point — if we notice an interaction concern, a duplicate therapy, or a simplification opportunity, we'll discuss it with you first and then communicate with your provider with your permission. We don't change anything without your knowledge.
Can my family member call about my medications?
Yes, with your written permission via a HIPAA release. We can speak with designated family members about refill timing, packaging questions, and general medication coordination. Anything that crosses into protected medical information requires explicit authorization, which we can set up at any of our locations.
Can I keep some medications in regular bottles and put others in Dispill?
Yes. Some patients use Dispill for their daily oral medications and keep PRN medications (taken as needed) in regular bottles. Insulin, inhalers, eye drops, and topical medications stay in their original packaging too. We'll work out what makes sense for your regimen.
What happens when my doctor changes one of my medications?
You or your provider call us with the change, and the next Dispill cycle reflects the new prescription. We don't wait for the old supply to run out — we work with you to coordinate the transition so you're never confused about which pack to use. If a medication is being stopped urgently, we can replace your current card mid-cycle.
Do you work with nursing homes and assisted living facilities?
Yes. We've provided unit-dose packaging, MAR reporting, controlled substance management, and on-call pharmacist support for regional facilities since 1995. If you're a facility administrator looking for a pharmacy partner, call (419) 784-4800 to discuss your needs and we'll set up a meeting.
How long does a comprehensive medication review take?
Typically 30–45 minutes for the initial review, depending on how many medications you're on and how complex your situation is. Most patients find it worth the time — it's often the first detailed conversation they've had about their full medication list in years.
