Does Medicare cover CPAP supplies?+
Medicare Part B typically covers CPAP machines and supplies for patients with a documented diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea and a prescription from a qualified provider. Coverage includes a 13-month capped rental on the machine itself (you own it after 13 months), plus ongoing supply replacement at insurance-defined intervals — typically masks every 3 months, hoses every 3 months, filters more frequently. We handle the billing and resupply scheduling. Check with us about your specific plan's coverage rules and any prior authorization requirements.
How does the insurance resupply schedule work?+
Insurance plans (Medicare and most commercial plans) define how often you're eligible to replace specific CPAP supplies. We track those schedules for you and reach out when you're due — typically by phone or text. When you confirm you need the resupply, we process the order, bill your insurance, and have the supplies ready for pickup or schedule a drive-through pickup at our Paulding location. No need for you to track replacement dates yourself.
Do I need a sleep study or prescription to get CPAP supplies?+
For insurance-billed CPAP equipment and supplies, yes — Medicare and most commercial plans require a current prescription from a qualified provider plus documentation of medical necessity (typically a recent sleep study showing obstructive sleep apnea). For cash-pay purchases of certain supplies, requirements vary. If you're not sure where you stand, call us with your prescriber's name and we can sort out what's needed.
What if my CPAP mask doesn’t fit well?+
Mask fit is the most common reason patients struggle with CPAP therapy. We offer in-person mask fitting at our Defiance location — trying different mask styles (nasal pillow, nasal mask, full face), different sizes, and different brands until you find what works. Insurance typically covers a new mask every 3 months, so if your current mask isn't working, you don't have to wait long for an alternative.
Which CPAP brands do you carry?+
We carry the major CPAP and BiPAP brands commonly prescribed in this region — including masks, machines, and supplies from the most widely-used manufacturers. Brand preference is often dictated by your prescriber's recommendation or what your insurance covers, but where there's flexibility, we can discuss which mask style and machine work best for your needs. Call us with your prescription or current equipment and we'll confirm specific brand availability.
Can I get my CPAP supplies through the drive-through?+
Yes — our Paulding location has a drive-through, which is convenient for CPAP resupply orders. Call ahead to confirm your order is ready, then pick up without leaving the car. For new CPAP setups requiring mask fitting and machine education, the Defiance location is the better fit since fitting happens in person.
Do you handle CPAP compliance reporting for insurance?+
Most modern CPAP machines record usage data that insurance plans require to continue coverage — typically a minimum of 4 hours per night on 70% of nights over a 30-day window. We can help interpret your machine's data and submit the required reports to your insurance when needed. If your machine doesn't upload data automatically, we can walk you through downloading the SD card or coordinating with your sleep specialist's office.
What about travel with my CPAP?+
CPAP machines are TSA-approved as carry-on medical equipment (they don't count toward your carry-on bag limit). For travel, ask us about smaller travel-specific CPAP machines, battery packs for camping or boating, and extra supplies to bring along. We can usually order a backup mask or smaller travel machine quickly if you have a trip coming up.
