The Story

About this location.

When Rite Aid announced the closure of its Paulding location, patients in Paulding County faced losing local pharmacy access. Paulding County Economic Development, the Paulding County Hospital, and Okuley's worked together to bring a new family-owned independent pharmacy to the community.

The Paulding store opened at 829 N Williams Street — the former Fastenal building next to the BMV — initially with drive-through service, then expanding to full retail operations. We share staff and supply with our Defiance and Continental locations, which means compounded medications, hard-to-find prescriptions, and durable medical equipment are all available at Paulding even when they're prepared elsewhere.

For patients moving over from a chain pharmacy that closed, we make the transfer process simple: bring your prescription bottles or call us, and we'll handle the call to your old pharmacy and coordinate with your insurance.

Common Questions

Paulding location FAQs.

What hours is the drive-through open?
The drive-through operates during regular pharmacy hours. We recommend calling ahead for refill availability so we can have your prescription ready when you pull up. Call (419) 399-2010 to verify your refill is ready.
Can I get compounded medications at the Paulding location, or do I need to go to Defiance?
You can get compounded medications at Paulding. Our compounding lab is at our Defiance location, but compounded prescriptions are delivered routinely to Paulding for patient pickup. When you transfer or fill a compounded prescription with us, we'll coordinate the timing so it's ready when you need it. For first-time compounding consultations, we may recommend scheduling at Defiance directly to meet with our compounding pharmacists.
Where exactly is the Paulding store?
We're located at 829 N Williams Street in Paulding — in the former Fastenal building, right next to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). There's parking available on-site and the building has a drive-through lane on the side. If you're using GPS, the BMV is the easiest landmark to navigate to.
Do you accept the same insurance as the Rite Aid that closed?
We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and most private commercial insurance. When you transfer your prescriptions to us, our team verifies your coverage and handles any prior authorization paperwork. If you have questions about a specific plan, call us at (419) 399-2010 and we'll check coverage before you make the trip.
How long do prescription transfers take?
For most prescriptions, transfers are completed within the same business day — usually within a few hours. Just give us your name, date of birth, and the name of your previous pharmacy, and we'll handle the call. Controlled substances and compounded medications may take an additional day depending on the prescription specifics. You don't need to take any action with your previous pharmacy yourself.
